LIFE RESEAU to be featured at Green Week Event on Urban Water Resilience

As part of EU Green Week 2025, project partner ITG is hosting a high-level workshop entitled Digitalisation, Urban Water Cycle and Resilience, aimed at showcasing innovative strategies and successful projects that contribute to more sustainable and resilient cities. The LIFE RESEAU project will be among the featured initiatives, sharing key insights into how digital tools are improving the performance of urban water networks.

The event will be held at ITG’s Advanced Experimentation Centre in A Coruña, bringing together public institutions, technology providers, researchers, and water utility companies. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge solutions, learn about ongoing R&D efforts, and discover funding opportunities for national and international innovation projects.

A highlight of the day will be a presentation by Aqualia, introducing the LIFE RESEAU project under the title: “Eliminating Infiltrations and Discharges in Sewer Networks: LIFE RESEAU”. The talk will demonstrate how smart monitoring and predictive analytics can support cities in improving the management of their sanitation infrastructure.

The agenda will also include:

  • Strategies to foster citizen participation in water governance (Augas de Galicia)
  • Innovative policy design through participatory processes and decision-support tools (sister project D4RUNOFF, funded under the Horizon Europe Programme)
  • Funding mechanisms for R&D&I provided by CDTI
  • Contributions from environmental clusters such as VIRATEC and the Spanish Water Technology Platform (PTEA)
  • Practical approaches to water digitalisation in small municipalities, presented by ITG experts
  • The role of energy communities in the water cycle

This event is organised within the framework of the GPE2023-001314-P initiative, supported by the Spanish Innovation Agency, and will offer an excellent platform for LIFE RESEAU to further disseminate its mission and connect with new stakeholders.
